BC: I had the pleasure of wworking with Susan to rent my townhome in Woodcroft. It was not listed for very long, and actually was listed a few weeks before it was even available. I changed my mind about renting my home and decided to sell it. But, while listed with Red Door Company, and in constant communication with Susan, I came to realize that she is a competent and knowledgeable agent, who went out of her way to keep me aware of the progress and interest displayed by potential renters. TJ: Not long after purchasing my home, I got job in another city. Selling was not an option, especially when considering the fact that I had had just refinanced the house. I heard about Red Door Company from a friend who actually lives in Cincinnati but owns property in Durham. Her experience with Red Door Company had been very good so I decided to give them a call. Allowing Red Door to manage my property was one of the best decisions I could have made. The people are very knowledgeable and friendly. It took a few months to get the property rented but in the mean time they made sure it stayed in tip-top condition. They made great recommendations as to how I could get it rented faster but at the same time they never forced me to do anything. I think the thing I love the most is that though I rarely have any questions or concerns, any time I send an email or make a phone call, someone is contacting me shortly thereafter with the answer. CD:Two years ago we were relocating from NC to CA, and looking at a very short window to sell our house. After one unsuccesful try with a real estate company, we were referred to Fonville Morisey who referred us to Red Door Company as an alternate solution. We couldn't have been more happy with our decision. BN: "I have a property near downtown that I moved out of in July 2005. After trying unsuccessfully to rent the property for over a year, I turned to Red Door Company to help out. They came through and suggested some changes and minor improvements (which took about 3 weekends to perform) and told me that I could rent the place for $300 more than my asking price. Within a couple of weeks of turning the property over to Red Door Company, they had it rented at the new asking price.
In addition, I would note that since Red Door Company took over, there have been a couple of repair issues (it is an old house!). In each case, I received an alert right away explaining the issue and informing me before sending over repairmen. In each case (major plumbing issue and damaged attic vents), the repair service was very reasonably priced and very fast. Although I have been kept informed of any issues that may arise with rent or maintenance, everything was taken care of without my involvement. It's a very worry-free way to own investment property."

CC and DC: " My wife and I have been renting a home from Red Door Company since last May. Kevin took care of much of the preliminary work long-distance, by phone and email to Minnesota, where we were then living. Our first face to face contact came the day we met him at the property for a showing.

In the time we have been renting, Kevin has unfailingly demonstrated outstanding professionalism, and a sincere dedication to the task of promptly handling any issues that have arisen during our rental period. He has always returned my calls or emails in a timely manner, and has stuck with any maintenance requests until they were solved. Moreover, he has done so in an always friendly, engaging manner that made us feel our requests were not a burden, but something he was eager to make right.

There was no greater example than what occurred the very first weekend we were here. It was Mothers Day weekend, and our daughter had flown in to spend a few days with us. All was going well, until the water heater in the attic sprung a leak and we had to shut it down. Because it was a weekend, Kevin couldn't get a plumber out to the house, so he made arrangements for us to shower elsewhere and still make it to that Sunday's Mother's Day Brunch at the Carolina Inn. Then, bright and early the next day, the plumber showed up with a replacement water heater. Literally, within 48 hours our hot water was restored.

Since then, there have been a few other issues, minor by comparison. Without fail, Kevin has deal with each and every one with the same professionalism and attention to detail we have come to expect from him. And he has done that with unfailing courtesy and good humor, in the best tradition of southern hospitality and friendship.
